A new big musical production, 100% original, will premiere in Madrid in the 2012-2013 season. THE LAST HORSEMAN,a new musical with libretto by Ray Loriga and music by John Cameron produced by Andrés Vicente Gómez (LolaFilms) and directed by Victor Conde.

Victor Conde, director of PEGADOS and resident director of LES MISERABLES, has explained to us that THE LAST HORSEMAN "is a fantasy about the story of the founders of Arabia based on historic characters located in the Victorian era". "A story about Arab horses, and how the British travelled all over the world with those horses. It is a kind of "1001 Nights", very magical. A large part of the show will be choreography and dance driven, combining genres like the musical and dance."

The director has said that the project is in an embryonic phase and that he is currently making frequent trips back and forth to London in order to work with composer John Cameron in the creation of the libretto of the score. The adaptation into Spanish of the lyrics of the songs is by Alicia Serrat (co-author of PEGADOS and responsible of the adaptation to Spanish of musicals like CHICAGO and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL).

The creative team behind the LAST HORSEMAN is half British, half Spanish.

Madrid born Ray Loriga is a novelist, screenplay writer and Spanish film director. He is the author of novels like "Heroes", "Caidos del cielo", "El Hombre que Inventó Manhattan" and "El bebedor de lágrmas" and director of films such as "Teresa, el cuerpo de cristo".

The composer, arranger and musical director John Cameron is co-composer of the songs of ZORRO THE MUSICAL, together with the Gypsy Kings, a show which was nominated for the Olivier awards for the best Musical in 2009; and the orchestrator of the original production of the LES MISERABLES, a work for which he obtained a Drama Desk prize and the National Broadway Theatre Award. Other theatrical works of his include the music for ALFIE - THE MUSICAL and for FAUST parts I & II for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Throughout his extensive career, he has worked with artists as diverse as José Carreras and Ella Fitzgerald. He has also composed the soundtrack of several films like "A Touch of Class".
