RAY LORIGA ALLOWS HIMSELF TO BE SEDUCED BY THE MUSICAL
«The Last Horseman» is the musical
being put together these days, with the script by Ray Loriga and
music by John Cameron. The first auditions were held this week to
choose the cast for the production that bears the seal of Arabian
Horses Productions and Andrés Vicente Gómez under the scene
direction of Víctor Conde. The musical is expected to premiere in
Madrid and London next season.
Conde told todomusicales.es that
«The Last Horseman» "is a fantasy about the historical founders of
Arabia, based on characters set in Victorian times. It looks at
Arabian horses and how the British travelled around the world on
them. It is a sort of 1001 Nights with a lot of magic to it. The
show will have outstanding choreographic and dance components as it
combines many genres, musical theater and dancing among them."
«The Last Horseman» is
novelist, writer and filmmaker Ray Loriga´s first venture into
theater, and more specifically into musical theater. The composer
is, however, a respected musician with extensive experience in
theater, film and British television. He wrote the soundtracks for
such films as «Los protectores» and in the theater he excelled as
an arranger in «Les Misérables» as well as composer in the musical
«El zorro» with the Gypsy Kings.
